The focus of this class will be composition, color relationships and mixing using a limited palette. Students will learn glazing and layering techniques, brush basics, and how to create a variety of color formulas. These painting elements will be practiced in exercises using abstract and landscape as the subject matter. Demonstrations will be given at the beginning of each session with plenty of work time to follow. For most of the classes we will be working on one painting, however some paintings may extend over two classes depending on the exercise. This course is designed specifically for beginner-intermediate level students. Students do not need to have any prior drawing skills to attend this class.
