“Treat Yourself!”

Acrylic, Mixed Media & Collage

All-day Workshop with Jaya King

December 11th
10am to 4pm

What does acrylic feel like when it touches canvas?
How far does that color go?
Can you draw over acrylic?
What is matte-medium and isn’t a brush just a brush?

Step out of the mall, put your shopping bags down, and you can quit looking for that last parking space…The holidays can be stressful and there’s always someone you forget about:  YOU!  Take a break from the Jingle Bell Rock and “Treat Yourself” to an all day workshop with award-winning artist Jaya King.  This workshop offers a fresh look at collage and mixed media with a strong emphasis on acrylic paints.  We will explore and play with a basic “limited palette”, colorful collage elements and different drawing media.  These will be the core tools for our mixed-media masterpieces!  Demonstrations on materials and technique will be held throughout the day.

Whether you are a traditional landscape painter, representational pastelist, watercolorist, plein-air extraordinaire, or paint-by-number master, come and learn a new technique and experiment with acrylic, collage and mixed media. It’s always fun to learn something new and create a unique work of art so grab a brush and Treat Yourself!
